Apple strudel
2-3 apples for each strudel
1 tablespoon of cornstarch for each strudel
Cinnamon
2 tablespoon of brown sugar per strudel
1 tablespoon butter
1/8 tsp salt
Raisins and walnuts
Puff pastry
egg wash
+/- lemon rind of 1/2 lemon
1. Melt butter, sugar, cinnamon and cornstarch; add thinly sliced apples and cook for 10min, just till apples are soften and give up moisture
2. COOL apple mixture before you do anything (very important! puff pastry's butter will be melted easily)
3. Defrost puff pastry in FRIDGE (not in room temp or else it will become sticky very soon), in a floured surface, roll it out to 12" by 15" or sth like that; keep in fridge till ready to use or else it'll be a sticky mess!
4. Line up apple mixture in the middle 1/3 of the strudel, fold in the 1/3 on either side and flip so that the seams are at the back; Tuck top and bottom in; Score lightly and paint with egg wash
5. 35min in a preheated oven at 200C
6. Cool and serve with ice cream. Baileys ice cream yummza
